NRS recently completed a high specification, quality retail store for Lidl Ireland at Wilton Co. Cork. We commenced this project in February 2017 and the doors opened to the public in September 2017.
Works included the construction of a three story store undercroft style Lidl Store, measuring 3200 m2. The works consisted of the demolition of two houses, a petrol forecourt & shop unit, outbuildings, sheds, walls, tress and the removal of 10,000m3 of inert soil from site. The construction of a reinforced concrete retaining wall varying in height from 3 to 6m around three sides of the perimeter of the site including a king post temporary works earth retaining structure.
The undercroft store, consisted the construction of ground floor car parking, plant rooms and entrance lobby. The main shop floor is located on the first floor along with a bakery, freezers, goods warehouse and welfare facilities. Access is via travellator or passenger lift from the lobby.
The project involved the provision of a new vehicular and pedestrian access, the provision of boundary treatments, hard and soft landscaping, construction of an ESB substation, lighting, connections to drainage and water services and all other ancillary site and associated works.
We were delighted to have undertaken the construction of this “new concept” retail store for Lidl Ireland.
