The Old Mill Wind Farm project was located in the townlands of Carrickatee and Lisduff in County Monaghan, approximately 9km south-west of Castleblayney town. The project was a design and build project and included the electrical and civil balance of plant works. The project consisted of:
- Design of the works and liaison with landowners and other interested stakeholders.
- Installation of 6 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG’s) totalling 17.1MW installed capacity (GE 2.85-103 turbines)
- Development of an on site borrow pit
- Construction of associated foundations and hardstanding areas
- Construction of a 38 KV substation, compound and control building
- Installation of a new combined overhead and underground grid connection cable
- Construction of a Welfare Building – works included foundations, radon membrane, blockwork, roofwork, M&E, carpentry works and all internal finishes.
- Installation of a permanent met mast
- Construction of 4 No. site entrances
- Construction of internal site roads
- Offsite public road improvements
- Installation of wind farm network cabling
- Other ancillary works (drainage, electrical and communication cable infrastructure)
